    Website for the ASSW 2015 is now open

    Arctic Science Summit Week 2015 will take place in Japan.

    The website for the Arctic Science Summit Week (ASSW) 2015 in Toyama (Japan) is now available.

    The ASSW 2015 will be held on 23-30, April 2015 and include the final event of the 3rd International Conference on Arctic Research Planning (ICARP III).

    Registration for ASSW 2014 is now open

    Arctic Science Summit Week 2014

    The ASSW is the annual gathering of international organizations engaged in supporting and facilitating Arctic research.

    Its purpose is to provide opportunities for international coordination, collaboration and cooperation in all fields of Arctic science and to combine science and management meetings.

    Last year´s ASSW took place in Cracow, Poland and attracted great amount of scientists, academics and policy makers from many different countries.

    This year´s ASSW and AOS meetings will be arranged during April 5-8 and April 9-11 in Helsinki.

    The conferences will be arranged in the facilities of the University of Helsinki and the Finnish Meteorological Institute located on the science campus Kumpula.

    This year’s Arctic Science Summit Week will take place in Krakow, Poland. The ASSW will be held during the second week of April, 13th – 19th.

    The ASSW is the annual gathering of international organizations engaged in supporting and facilitating Arctic research. Its purpose is to provide opportunities for international coordination, collaboration and cooperation in all fields of Arctic science and to combine science and management meetings. Side meetings organized by groups with interest in the Arctic science and policy will also be held within the week.

    One of them is already planned: The Association of Polar Early Career Scientists (APECS) will offer a one-day career development workshop during the ASSW 2013.

    The ASSW in 2013 will include a three-day Science Symposium entitled: The Arctic Hub – Regional and Global Perspectives.

    Arctic Portal will participate in the symposium with the presentation titled: Communication and structure of scientific data in order to support regional and global sustainability of the Arctic Region.

    The Arctic Science Summit Week will be held in April in Poland. The call for participation and abstract submission is close.

    The deadline for abstract submission is the 16th of January and they can be sent through the conference website.

    The week will include disciplinary sessions on Atmosphere Processes and Global Climate Connections, Cryospheric Changes: Drivers and Consequences, Marine Processes and Variability, Terrestrial Ecosystem Responses to Environmental Stressors and Impact of Global Changes on Arctic Societies.

    It will also have cross-cutting sessions on Arctic People and Resources: Opportunities, Challenges and Risks, Applying Local and Traditional Knowledge to Better Understanding of the Changing Arctic, Arctic System Science for Regional and Global Sustainability and Changing North: Predictions and Scenarios.

    The ASSW is the annual gathering of international organizations engaged in supporting and facilitating Arctic research.
